Red Oak Bedroom Suite

These pieces were commissioned with low V.O.C.s at the forefront of the design criteria.  With that in mind; we designed the drawer mechanics to be made from wood and the finish to be a hand rubbed wax finish.

There were a minimal amount of screws used, the drawer boxes were fabricated using half-blind dovetails and run on a “centre-mount, side hung” design.  The drawer boxes themselves were made from poplar and the runners with which they open and close on were made from maple.  Having the runners made from maple will ensure the drawers run smooth for years to come as the maple is a harder material than the poplar.
